What’s Covered?

VPI has a variety of available plans through which they provide “nose-to-tail coverage” for a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses. Routine care coverage can be added to any plan.

  1. “Major Medical Plan – comprehensive”
    • Covers accidents, illnesses and hereditary conditions
    • If you want a safety net for big vet bills, this is the plan you’re looking for. It’s our most comprehensive protection, with our highest level of benefits
      • Double the benefit allowances of the Medical Plan
      • Limited hereditary coverage after the first year
      • Chronic condition coverage
      • Freedom to use any vet, anywhere
      • Benefits renew in full each year
      • Flexible deductible
      • Maximum annual benefit of $14,000
  2. “Medical Plan – economical”
    • Covers accidents and illnesses
    • If you want dependable coverage for great value, this plan is perfect for you. It provides basic coverage for accidents, emergencies and illnesses, including cancer.

    • Covers accidents only
    • If you just want coverage for emergencies, this plan is ideal for you. It offers low-cost coverage for injuries only (like poisonings and broken bones), but not medical conditions.
      • Freedom to use any vet, anywhere
      • Benefits renew in full each year
      • Maximum annual benefit of $14,000
  4. “Feline Select Plan – just for cats”
    • Covers common conditions
    • If you’re looking for essential coverage without the expense of a comprehensive plan, look no further. The Feline Select℠ Plan offers low-cost coverage for the 15 most common cat conditions.
      • No annual deductible
      • Chronic condition coverage
      • Freedom to use any vet, anywhere
      • Benefits renew in full each year
      • Maximum annual benefit of $9,000
  5. “Pet Wellness Plan – everyday care” [Not available in all states]
    • Covers vaccinations, flea control and more
    • If you want cash back on the wellness care your pet needs every year, this plan is for you. Purchase individually or bundle with any plan.
    • There are 3 levels of coverage available: max, plus, basic.

Veterinary exam expenses are reimbursed up to the allowance as determined by the benefits schedule.
